Tony’s Turkey Talker® In The Media

When we started making our handmade turkey call in 1964, the first sales were made by word-of-mouth to friends, relatives and customers of our egg farm in Punxsutawney.
Our turkey call has been written about and advertised in magazines and newspapers over the years.
Tony’s Turkey Talker® handmade turkey call has been featured in Wildlife in North Carolina Magazine.
Our turkey call is featured in Wild Turkey Zone as well.
Outdoor writer Roger Latham mentioned Tony’s Turkey Talker® on p. 70 of the October 25, 1964 issue of The Pittsburgh Press, a few weeks after our launch. Not sure how we were mentioned in the Press, Dad or Grandpap must have known someone who knew someone. Another possibility was an uncle who lived in the Pittsburgh area who may have had a contact at the Press. Unfortunately, Roger Latham got at least one detail incorrect regarding manufacture of the call.

Earl Mickel rated the Production Model of this call “very collectible” in his “Turkey Callmakers Past and Present, The Rest of The Best”, pp. 222-223, published 1999.

We had at least one advertisement in the Punxsutawney Spirit; on the bottom right-hand corner of the Tuesday, October 20, 1964 issue, Page Nine:

Our turkey call was advertised in the classified sections of Fur,Fish & Game; Outdoor Life Magazine and the paper copy of the Moose Magazine as well.
